You just need a nail filer to achieve the square shape for your nails. Also you can use a nail filer that comes with a nail cutter if you want. So, let’s see how to go from round to square nails using these simple steps.
Step 1 : File the Front Side
The first step is to take your nail filer and start with any finger. You have to simply file in the back and forth motion of the front side of your nail.
( Please note : If your nails are long then you can firstly cut the front side of your nails to make them short and then proceed to file the front side )
The above step will help to convert the semi circle shape of the front part of your nail into a straight shape. Make sure to do this step gently and using a little force. If you do it very fast you can loose more length of your nail.
Also when you are filing your nail always stop and check if you are getting the desired shape or not. So, the first step is to simply make the front side of your nail straight in shape as shown in the photo.
Step 2 : Then File the Left side
In the next step you can choose any side of your nail, I choose the left side first. Then start filing the left side of your nail again in the back and forth motion.
This step will help to make the one side of your nail straight and while filing you will notice the curve on the side edge of your nail start to disappear as you file.
This is what we need to make our round nail square in shape. Again use gentle hands while filing the side of your nail, because you can easily cut your skin if you go very fast.
Stop filing when you get a straight shape on the side of nail and the curve got completely disappeared and use a soft cotton pad to clean your nail.
Step 3 : File The Right Side
Ok, so this step is very very easy because you have to simply follow the above step on the right side your nail.
When you follow the above step you will see the other side of your nail also got the straight shape and the curve completely disappeared.
Also when you file the both sides your nails always make sure to keep your finger a little bit tilt and skin a bit under the nail so that your skin does not get in between while filing and you get the full space to easily file the sides of your nails.
Step 4 Give the Final Touch
The last step is to give the finishing touch to your nails. In this step you have to use your filer to file all the 3 sides of the your nails in back and forth motion just for a few seconds.
Make sure to do this step with very gentle hands because you already got your desired shape but just to make your nail look more precise in shape it is important to give the final touch.
After that simply clean your nails with a cotton pad or any soft fabric and done, you successfully changed your round nails to square in shape.
